Intelligence
Most software matches text. We're interested in software that understands it.
Our work on intelligence asks how a system can take in a question, the context around it and the material it has access to, and work out what is being asked before it answers.
What we're exploring
- Context, not keywords. Understanding the intent behind a question, even when it's phrased loosely.
- Reasoning over knowledge. Connecting pieces of information that live in different places.
- Knowing the limits. Being clear about what a system knows, and what it doesn't.
- Natural interaction. Responding fast enough, and naturally enough, that it feels like talking to a person.
Where it shows up
- Ucelot applies it to codebases and documents.
- The Interactive Smart Conversation Engine applies it to real-time conversation.
